Dear Nick,

You have given me years of laughter and entertainment like few others in show biz have. Whenever I need a pick me up I know I can watch you on DVD in episodes like the Zeppo or Once More With Feeling and feel better. Not everyone can save the world with a yellow crayon. I am an aspiring writer and hope to one day work with you. Glad you’re working hard to overcome your real life demons. You can do it. I believe in you.

Dude, I volunteered for a substance abuse helpline in Boston years ago and currently work with guys who have brain injuries (a few of them caused by alcohol related accidents). Stick to your program: go to the meetings (I assume you’re doing the 12 step thing), have a good relationship with your sponsor, and structure your life so you don’t get into situations that expose you to the drink.

I’m so sorry. I can’t even imagine how hard addiction must be to deal with. I just wanted you to know that I think it’s good that you’re getting help and that I’m praying for you to get better and have a happy, rewarding, sober life. I know having setbacks with this must be very frustrating but please don’t get discouraged. Take good care of yourself and know that there are alot of us fans out here, me included, who think an awful lot of you and wish you well. (Hugs)
