Nicholas Brendon joins The Blank’s next play
Nicholas Brendon has joined the cast of The Blank Theatre Co.’s upcoming Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them. The play will run from Jan. 30 to March 14, at the Stella Adler Theatre in Los Angeles.
From the Blank’s Web site:
Christopher Durang turns political humor upside down with this raucous
and provocative satire about America’s growing homeland “insecurity.”
A young woman is suddenly in crisis: Is her new husband, whom she married when drunk, a terrorist? Or just crazy? Or both? Is her father’s hobby of butterfly collecting really a cover for his involvement in a
shadow government? Why does her mother enjoy going to the theatre
so much? Does she seek mental escape, or is she insane? Honing in
on our private terrors both at home and abroad, Durang oddly
relieves our fears in this black comedy for an era of yellow, orange
and red alerts.

Nick is doing a Christopher Durang play.
There are no words for how perfect this is.

I’m there! With all the plays I saw last year, I’m gettin’ the culture bug.

Decided to reward myself with a trip to LA so I’m going to have a chance to see Nick on stage. Can’t wait!

saw the play tonight… hilarious. very odd (but that’s Durang for ya). and very much on the cusp of going to far (again… Durang). i went in knowing nothing, even though the lovely webmistress Jacqui had almost offered me a peak at a review ( iturned it down), but then texted her that i wish i’d had some warning… my sides hurt from laughing when Nicky came out… the character is- there are no words.
Anyways, Christine Estabrook stole every scene. She was amazing. Catherine Hicks too. But Nicky… well, obviously he’s why I originally got the tickets- he was a gem. Can’t wait to go again in March in conjunction with the Nick at Night event!

Hey Nicholas
Just been thinking a lot about you since I caught your name in the news. Wishing you very good luck and hoping things straighten out for you. Remember, you have a LOT of fans and we all wish you the best. I’m from way far away Canada, couldn’t make it to the meet and greet – but if you’re ever up this way, I will make the trip. You’re my all time fav buffy character and I love your part in Criminal Minds. Seen a couple of your movies too, will rent anything with you in it! I’m an older fan, but a staunch one! Hope that didn’t get messed up by recent news. If you need your fans to write into Criminal Minds people and insist on keeping you around, we will! Just let us know if that would help or hinder.
Very, very best to you – we love you!
