Where do you want to see Nicholas Brendon in 2010?
Many of you have written in about how you’d love to see Nicholas Brendon in 2010 at Hallowhedon 2 and especially conventions in the U.S. Well, I just told Nick all about that, and he’d like to make your wishes come true! But where should he go? What do you want to see him at? That’s where you come in.
Do you know of any conventions coming up in your area that we should look into? Are you in charge of booking for a convention or event, and would like to inquire about his availability? Obviously, while I’ve received some ideas about things, I can’t know of everything happening everywhere — so I need your help!

I know that Nicholas has come to Dragon*Con in Atlanta, Georgia over Labor Day weekend in the past. I would love for him to come back and see us. If it helps, let him know that James Marsters has been there for the last 3 straight years and Charisma Carpenter came last year. The rooms are always packed when Buffy actors come and, considering that Nicholas is one of my favorite actors, I would be very happy to meet him there. Please thank Nicholas for offering us this chance and thank you, Jacqui, for passing it on!

Please come to Dragoncon in Atlanta over Labor Day weekend. The Buffy fandom is alive and well at Dragoncon and we would love to see you there. All the Buffy stars are big hits at Dragoncon and everyone loved seeing James, Charisma, Julie Benz, and Felicia Dey last year. So once again…without begging too much….Please come. Xander rocks!

Atlanta’s the Delta hub so flights would be cheaper. If Nick went to Dragoncon, I might have to pony up the dough for a ticket. It always seems to have the best panels. And William Shatner.

And I guess Dragon*Con is the big winner in the “Where should Nicky go?” Q&A! I’ve never actually been. What’s it like? Also, I know people have wanted him to look into the northeast. Anywhere else?

Hallowhedon 2 definitely! But you gotta bring a costume this time Nicky. Restaurant Entrepreneur just isn’t gonna cut it lol.
And hey if you wanna stop by any Boston conventions i definitely wouldn’t say no. Or New York Comic Con. That could be cool. Hope to see ya!

Jacqui – Dragon*Con is fantastic. Try and picture 30,000 to 40,000 sci-fi, fantasy, RPG (etc.) fans roaming around 4 major hotels (Hyatt, Mariott, Hilton, and Sheraton) in full costume. I have seen some fabulous ones (the Buffy ones are always great). They usually tend toward Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Steampunk, but there have been some other truly amazing costumes. Last year, an entire group of people dressed up like Monty Python and the Holy Grail – complete with the Trojan Bunny! It was fabulous and Terry Gilliam was certainly appreciative. Their panels cover everything from Star Trek (William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and Patrick Stewart came last year), Whendonverse, Star Wars (Peter Mayhew and David Prowse come every year), Filk, Battlestar Gallactica, Stargate, Babylon 5, and Farscape (there are MANY others too). There is also a parade for everyone in costume to walk in. A fabulous looking Batmobile stole the show.
The best part, in my opinion, is the Buffy Horror Picture Show. The members of the Whedonverse track fill ballrooms to capacity for the several showings they have. While projecting “Once More With Feeling” onto a big screen, the members of the track act out the ENTIRE episode on a stage in front of the screen while another member periodically holds up humorous cue-cards off to the right of the stage making comments on the show. The first year I went, the entire audience was rolling when a young kid yelled for Xander to “Be a man” and own up to the spell being his idea! It is a truly awesome experience that is not to be missed!

Awe come on you guys can’t hog him there in the States! Nick definetely needs to come here to Sunny South Africa this year. We are after all hosting the SOCCER WORLD CUP! Besides he will love SA. Our sites are some of the most beautiful in the world, the wilderness is something to experience. Besides his two biggest fans live in White River Mpumalanga South Africa (my sons that is). Every end November the bikers around SA have what we call a Toy Run. It would be great if he appeared for that. The toy run collects food, blankets, nappies and toys for the many Aids homes and orphanages here in SA.
I can think of plenty of charities that hold events that would love to have him here.

The comments show that there are more crazy (in the nice sense) fans here in Europe (which includes the UK) per head of population than anywhere else in the world, so NB just has to spend more time over here.

I actually said Hallowhedon 2, but I’m from the US, not the UK. I went to Hallowhedon last year and I’ve already bought my tickets for this year, so that’s still my vote!

I’ve never been to FX but I know Dragoncon in Atlanta is good. They also have a really nice Sci-Fi art gallery and panels directed at sci-fi artistry and writing. The costume parade is really something to see. I went to see Nicky there in 2006 and it was my first and only convention so far, and I have to say, I was completely blown away by it. It’s just a huge 3 day fangirl geek heaven party. It would be great for Nick to be there. And, Kelly too, if he could come with him.

Wow…I’m not up to having to travel all the way to Georgia or Florida to see Nick. Nashville, TN holds some good conventions. One is close to my birthday. It’s called MTAC. Granted it is an anime convention but I’m sure they won’t object to him being there.

chiller theater convention in NJ/NY they have one in the spring and one on holloween, one of the biggest shows on the east coast if not the whole contry.

Here’s a thought. How about Minneapolis? I mean, I don’t think there are any conventions coming through any time soon, but someone could probably set something up. I mean, it doesn’t have to be big, right? Maybe just like, you’d want to meet and greet some fans. Or like, maybe not even Minneapolis. You could do St. Paul. Are convention centers necessary? Or hotels? Maybe a house. Maybe someone could call a bunch of people and, hey, instant party! I know someone who makes great dip. There could be XBox. Or Wii if that’s your thing. Just saying. Think about it.

I would really love for Nicholas to come to Massachusetts. There are a few conventions that come through here. One convention that is held every year is Rock And Shock in Worcester Massachusetts. It’s a convention that features actors from different sci-fi & horror movies. There are also concerts that go on the same night at a club up the street. I’m sure if Nick made an appearance people would definatly show up to meet him! [rockandshock.com]
Also there is Supermegafest which James Marsters attended this past November. I went and there were TONS of Buffy fans! There are no dates etc..for this convention yet but I’m sure there will be in the upcoming months.
Wizard World Con is branching out to New England. There are no set dates for this yet, But there are alot of Buffy fans here in New England. I’m more than sure that fans would show up to meet him!
So please, Tell Nicholas that I would really love it if he came to Boston or anywhere in New England and I’m sure he wouldn’t be disapointed!

Both of you need to come to the East Coast!!! I Live in West Virginia and it is beautiful here. Clean air and mountains. But living here I can get to the coast in no time, so tell Nick to come to the East Coast this summer!!!

Jacqui – I don’t know anyone associated with Dragon*Con, but there is an application that artists and actors can fill out to become a featured guest. The website says that the application must be submitted by June 30, so get cracking. =-) If it helps, the website is http://dragoncon.org/dc_guest_app.php. I am really hoping to see Nicky there. I don’t have any information about how to get in touch with the Whedonverse people, but the main guy is Wayne Hutchinson. The Dragon*Con site says to “continue to check back for more information.” There also used to be a website (I think it might have been a LiveJournal site) that was for anyone interested in the Whedonverse. I’ll check around and see if I can find it. Thanks again for your help, Jacqui! Will you be coming with Nicky if he comes to Dragon*Con?!? Hope so!

I’m Wayne and I run the Whedon Universe Track at Dragon*Con. Thanks for all the kind words about our track as t hey are greatly appreciated. I have already requested that Nick be added as a guest as I do every year
I contacted Jacqui and all we can do now is wait but I am pushing for this so cross your fingers.

I’m watching an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Season 2, Ep 16: Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered). This has got to be the funniest thing I have seen in a long time! When you come strolling into the school in slow-mo and everyone is lined up in the hallways looking at you–that was such a cool scene! Thanks for the laughs! You did a great job in the Buffy series!

Any word on whether Nicky will be hitting up Hallowhedon? So many of us would love to know. Totally understandable if he can’t make it what with schedule clashes and that but if it was an oversight from ‘Massive Events’ point of view then that’s seriously messed up… Missed Nicky the last time and I know I speak for hell of alot folks when I say we’d love to see him. Ps well done on ‘Very Bad Kaolas’, tis Stellar stuff
