Looking forward to the movie. I may not be able to see Nick rock his Christmas play, but darn it, I can tivo the heck out of his Christmas Movie! I enjoy a good Christmas movie, this one has a dog and everything.

Okay, just finished it and made a few notes.

Nothing but love for the Star Wars throwback.

    Seriously amazing casting.

I want to be cynical about this movie but I can’t.

The dialogue is fantastic. Her reaction to seeing the dog – “What?” Perfect.

Too bad about the house getting sold. Good thing she’s not bitter and lashing out irrationally. Oh, wait.

I seriously love this family. So, very, very real.

“Take me to your leader.” Yes.

Oh, Jesus, he’s playing another contractor/carpenter? Is Nick planning to parlay all this experience into a messianic biopic next Easter?

I want to see him throw her in a pit of voles. How can she be so heinous in front of the kid?

Oh, wait, the bickering…I get it. They are Han and Leia.

The son’s dialogue is killing me. I’m tearing up. Actual tears.

GIFT OF THE MAGI! Holy crap, he’s reading his daughter O. Henry. Best. Dad. Ever.

Why isn’t this cheesy? The song montage should be cheesy. It’s somehow not.

Oh, I see what you did there. She’s gonna buy the house, isn’t she. JUST LIKE IN GIFT OF THE MAGI. Oh, foreshadowing.

I think he should have made her sweat more. Scaring off buyers is evil. It’s hard enough selling a house in this economy.

Okay, final verdict, we never got the reveal on his closing day when she shows up to sign for the house. That? Would have been priceless. Also, it would have been stronger without the dog as a deus ex machina. Still though, Nick handled the pacing really well, and the pay off was well worth it if only to see his megawatt smile.

A nice, naturalistic holiday movie, supernatural dog not withstanding. Good flick.

I really enjoyed this movie. I loved Star Wars as a kid so I thought the whole Han and Leia thing was cute. I’ve always wanted to see Nick do the lead in a romantic comedy and I have to say that seeing him do the lead for this romantic Christmas story was quite the treat. I could have done without the whole song montage but it wasn’t bad. I have family and friends in real estate and construction and I’m honestly amazed that either Michael or the real estate agent didn’t strangle the living fool out of her when either one of them found out that she had run off potential buyers for his house. Nick played a really good dad in this, too. Anyway, I really liked the movie.

I really like it when Nick plays a bad guy but I love it when he plays the funny romantic sweetheart. So, if he ever does a movie where he starts out as a diabolical schemeing villian, falls in love with the down on her luck, heroic, underdog girl with a few funny lines and wisecracks thrown in for good measure, and then ends up the courageous, romantic hero…that would be my all time favorite flick.

God I wished I could have seen it but do not have ION so buy the sound of it look good I just wish someone could maybe put it on tape or dvd so I can buy it. I have some of nicks tv movies on dvd a famly member did them on the computer so I can have on dvd so that was cool.

  5. LGB says:

I second Keinda’s request, I so very badly wanna see this but it’s kinda hard since i’m not in america (You have no idea how tempting it is to move there just to get to see these TV movies that Nicky does), I don’t know if ION’s intending on putting this out on DVD but I hope they do… also anyone that missed this I believe it’s meant to be on saturday and Sunday, though someone might have to double check that info for me

  6. Stephannie Gurule’ says:

I loved the movie. I was so happy to see nick on something again. I miss him on CM. I dont watch the show. But I was lucky enough to be in the right place and right time for this christmas gem.

I really like Christmas movies, so when I saw the commercial for this movie I was happy. Even more happy to see that the movie was really good. I laughed when the said that “Hans” was a carpenter. I thought “again?” Movie has a great supporting cast, and I loved the story. I hope nick does more soon =)

  7. Patty says:

I was aimlessly flipping through various channels, just about to get up and go do some Christmas shopping just to chase away the boredom. Loe and behold, I come upon Nick’s gorgeous face on the TV and find out that he’s on a movie on ION (I haven’t been able to visit NB.com lately, so I had NO clue this was coming up!). You bet your ass I sat down and watched the movie and LOVED it. I wouldn’t have watched it otherwise, I’ll admit that, but although Nicky was the sole reason it caught my eye, the movie in it’s entirety was entertaining and totally tugged at the heart-strings. Thanks again Nick, you rock!
