Nicholas Brendon's holiday movie to air on ION Television

It looks like The Holiday House has been renamed A Golden Christmas and will air on ION Television Dec. 13. From the ION press release on BusinessWire:

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ION Television’s first originally produced television film, the holiday themed “A Golden Christmas,” is set to make its world premiere on the Network on Sunday, December 13 at 9:00 PM, ET. The announcement was made today by Leslie Chesloff, Executive Vice President, Programming, ION Media Networks. This two-hour film marks the first of a dozen originally produced made-for-television movies that ION Television is slated to roll out throughout 2010.

“A Golden Christmas” stars Andrea Roth (“Rescue Me”), Jason London (“Dazed and Confused”), Nicholas Brendon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Bruce Davison (“Ghost Whisperer,” “Longtime Companion”), Elisa Donovan (“Sabrina, The Teenage Witch”) and Alley Mills (“The Wonder Years,” “The Bold and the Beautiful”). The film is produced by MarVista Entertainment; directed by John Murlowski; and written by Jay Cipriani.

“We are thrilled that “A Golden Christmas” is kicking off our new originally produced series of movies-for-television,” said Chesloff. “It’s a touching, funny story that is sure to become a holiday classic. We look forward to the premiere of this film and our other original movies, which together will help anchor our weekend primetime line-up as we move into 2010.”

Synopsis:

One summer a long time ago, a little girl and a little boy were brought together by a very special dog. They played all summer long, it was puppy love. Then the summer ended and they never saw each other again until…years later when her parents (Davison and Mills) retire and decide to sell their house. Jessica (Roth), recently widowed, decides she needs to start over and moves back home with her son. She hopes to buy the old house as a Christmas surprise, however, her plan goes awry when she discovers that her parents have already sold it. What she does not know is that the house has been sold to the very same person that she spent that magical summer with years ago.

Nicholas discussed the movie in one of his audioblog entries last month.

I think the original title was better.

That being said, still doesn’t sound too bad.

My hunch? The dog is a Golden Retriever. Hence “Golden” Christmas.

I’m pretty pleased that we’ll get to see it so soon.

    Yeah, me too.

Think we should start a betting pool on the dog? Could be a yellow lab.

    Just saying.

I’m not sure if I get ION, either. I sure hope that I do or that I can get it. I was really wanting to see this one. I’ve always wanted to see Nick star in a romantic or romantic comedy type of movie.

Now, I’m wondering what kind of dog it’ll be. I have a little golden mixed breed mutt. He’s really cute. The dog could be a mutt.

Thanks for a great movie. What a neat story, we were glued to the t.v. and hated to see it end. Wonderful that someone cares enough to make a warm, happy movie in these times. Im sure it will become a classic like A CHISTMAS STORY. We have a GOLDEN RETRIEVER that looks just like the one in the movie, love her and her name is HONEY.

    With great appreciation,
