Nicholas Brendon on ‘Criminal Minds’: More details

We can confirm reports that have appeared elsewhere — Nicholas will guest star in the eighth episode of Criminal Minds this season. It’s entitled “Penelope,” and according to TV.com it’s scheduled to air Wednesday, Nov. 21. As for how’s it going so far? He reports his first day at work yesterday was “fantastic.”

Nicholas Brendon, on the road

We can confirm that Nicholas is scheduled to appear at the following conventions in the next two months:

Oct. 13-14: Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Sydney, Australia.

Nov. 10-11: Creation Entertainment’s Salute to Supernatural, Smallville and Buffy/Angel in Chicago. Other guests include Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Samantha Ferris, Fredric Lehne and Steve Carlson.

Nicholas Brendon to appear on ‘Criminal Minds’

This just in — Nicholas has landed a role on the CBS drama Criminal Minds!

He starts filming Wednesday. He’ll be playing “Kevin,” a computer expert who’s part of the investigative team. There’s also a chance Kevin could return after his initial episode… so be prepared to give CBS positive feedback when the time comes!

Nick news: Catching up

Unholy on DVDYou can preorder Unholy now from Amazon.com! The long-awaited movie will be released Sept. 7.

If you can’t wait that long and you’ll be in the New York area Aug. 15, you can check out a preview of Unholy. The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., at the Pioneer Theater, at 155 E. Third St. The Aug. 13 showing is sold out.

Other things to note:

Strand in the Closet: If you weren’t able to see Nicholas in Strand in the Closet at the Blank Theatre’s Young Playwrights Festival, you can check out pictures from the festival at the event’s Web site.

The Portal: Nicholas recently finished filming The Portal, a movie co-starring Michael Muhney and Stacey Keach, among others. You can find a photo of Nicholas and Michael on the set at MichaelMuhney.com.

Nick returns to the stage

Nicholas will take part in The Blank Theatre Co.’s Young Playwrights Festival! He’ll be onstage next weekend, in Strand in the Closet, a play written by 16-year-old Gabriel Neustadt:

After his mother’s death, a young businessman must return home and face his painful childhood. When his younger brother refuses to sell the house, hidden memories surface and an agonizing choice must be made.

Strand in the Closet is among the first set of plays in the festival, and will run June 7-10. You can order festival passes and individual tickets at The Blank’s Web site.
